1. Description of Water (top)

The Little Piney Creek is one of the jewels of the wild trout streams in Missouri, and offers the chance for trout to survive year round as well as the neccessary habitat to support natural reproduction in some sections of the stream. In addition to the wild trout, the stream also recieves stockings of trout from the MDC (generally in the months between March and October). The majority of the stream runs through private land, however there are several public accesses that allow the outdoorsman access to this stream.

It is not all good for the Little Piney, as gravel mining has begun to take its toll on the stream as have the locals that use it as thier local trash dump. However, don't let this stop you from visiting this wonderful trout stream within a short drive of Rolla.
